Industrial Engineering from the Turkish Military Academy, 1998

Semih Soran obtained his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Turkish Military Academy in 1998. He received his master’s degrees in Management and Organization from İnönü University and International Relations and Selçuk University in 2004 and 2006 respectively.  He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Management and Organization from İnönü University in 2011. In 2015, he was promoted to the rank of associate professorship in Management and Strategy.  

He graduated as a pilot from the Turkish Army Aviation Academy in 1999, and worked as a flight instructor until 2011. He has 3,000 hours of total flight time. His research interests are strategic management, strategic planning, stress management, emotions, performance assessment and management, organizational and system development and change, professional flight training, crew resource management, distant education, and flight training. Semih Soran also provides consultancy to numerous firms for mobile mapping, scaling panoramic images for urban inventories, distant data processing, developing web-based geographical information systems platforms, and mapping using drones.
