AKADEMİK GELİŞİM VE PROJE MENTÖRLÜĞÜ PROGRAMI DUYURUSU

Esteemed Faculty Members,
In order to enhance our university's research capacity and success rates in TÜBİTAK (1001, 3005, 3501, etc.) projects, the "Academic Development and Project Mentoring Program" has been initiated.
This program aims to bring together our experienced project executors (mentors) with our researchers (mentees) who are either applying for the first time or seeking to structure their projects with expert guidance. Throughout the process, mentors are expected to provide technical and academic support to mentees in project development, writing, and application stages.
The contributions of mentors who participate in this program will be reflected in the Service section of Özyeğin University Annual Academic Reports.
Program Scope:
Mentors, who are experts in their field, are expected to share their experiences from successfully completed TÜBİTAK projects or panelist duties regarding evaluation, application, revision, and implementation stages with mentees.
Mentorship Duration: As a collaborative decision between the mentor and mentee, the duration is determined to cover the project application period, lasting at least three months.
Goal: At least one completed and submitted TÜBİTAK project proposal.
Points of Consideration: While the main aim of this program is to enhance project application efficiency, it is also expected that mentorship will contribute to mentees developing their research orientations and advancing their academic careers. Mentors can direct detailed technical questions regarding the application process and system supported by the TTO to the TTO.
The fundamental purpose of mentorship is to guide mentees in developing their project proposals. However, depending on the scope and nature of the mentor's contribution, and in line with mutual agreement between the parties and relevant academic/ethical principles, it is possible for the mentor to be involved as a researcher or academic advisor in the project team. In such cases, it is essential to clearly define the boundaries between mentorship and researcher roles and transparently manage any potential conflicts of interest.
End-of-Process Evaluation and Feedback: Upon completion of the mentorship process (or the termination of the mentor-mentee relationship), mentors and mentees are expected to evaluate the process and provide feedback on the program. This feedback will be used to monitor the effectiveness of the program and for continuous improvement. Support: Contributions of mentor faculty members will be reflected in the annual academic reports. Additional incentives may be provided by the Rectorate for projects developed within the program that qualify for support.
Application Conditions:
For Mentors: Having successfully completed at least one TÜBİTAK project as an executor or currently managing one. For Mentees: Open to all faculty members with project ideas, those willing to write projects, those in the process of writing projects, or those awaiting project revisions.
Application Deadline: 15 May 2026, 17:00
