Faculty of Architecture and Design Students Returned with Two Awards from the 23rd Piranesi Prix de Rome 2025 Competition

Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design students won two awards at the 23rd Piranesi Prix de Rome 2025 competition in Italy between August 23-September 5, 2025.

In the 23rd edition of the competition, which brought together 179 students and 26 groups, Özyeğin University was represented by 10 students under the guidance of Assistant Prof. Dr. İdil Erdemir Kocagil and Assistant Prof. Dr. Luca Orlandi.

Among the participants, Damlasu Demir (Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, 4th year) and her team received the “Premio Piranesi Prix de Rome” award. In addition, our students Shanzay Ali Shah (Architecture, 4th year), Wajeeh Ur Rehman (Architecture, 4th year), Sezin Güve (Architecture, 4th year), and Elif Dakdevir (Architecture, 3rd year) received an “Honourable Mention” for their project.

The Piranesi Prix de Rome is an international student competition that brings together students from leading schools of architecture around the world. Held annually at the Villa Adriana archaeological site in Tivoli, Italy, the competition concludes with the evaluation of projects produced during an intensive two-week design workshop by a distinguished jury.
