Our President Prof. Barış Tan Made Important Visits to Azerbaijan

Özyeğin University President Prof. Barış Tan paid a two-day visit to Azerbaijan. Accompanied by Özyeğin University International Office Coordinator Danış Tuğrul Gözcü, President Prof. Tan’s visits in Azerbaijan began with meetings at the Turkish Embassy in Baku. Following the visit to the Embassy, our President visited Emin Amrullayev, the Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, at his office on September 4, 2025, to discuss possible cooperation opportunities in Azerbaijan and ways in which Özyeğin University could contribute to Turkey-Azerbaijan relations. During the meeting, discussions centered on bilateral ties, inter-university cooperation, and possible collaborations with Azerbaijani companies.

During the trip, our President Prof. Barış Tan also visited Azerbaijan’s leading universities, including Baku State University, ADA University, and Baku Higher Oil School. Özyeğin University and Baku State University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Prof. Tan also met with executives from SOCAR, Pasha Holding, CCI-Coca Cola Azerbaijan, and Rabıta Bank on September 5, 2025. The meeting agenda included establishing cooperation with the visited companies on issues expected to ameliorate the ongoing Turkey-Azerbaijan relations.
