Assistant Professor Mohammed Elamassie Joined the IEEE Transmission, Access, and Optical Systems (TAOS) Awards Subcommittee

Assistant Professor Mohammed Elamassie, a faculty member at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department and the Executive Co-Director of the Center of Excellence for Optical Wireless Communications Technologies (OKATEM) at Özyeğin University, joined the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Transmission, Access, and Optical Systems (TAOS) Awards Subcommittee. Dr. Elamassie became the only committee member from Türkiye to be chosen for the 2025-2026 term.

As a member of the TAOS Technical Committee under IEEE ComSoc, Dr. Elamassie will be responsible for evaluating candidate papers for technical awards from ICC and Globecom symposia. TAOS actively contributes to the organization, sponsorship, and peer-review process of multiple symposia tracks — including the Access Networks and Systems (ANS) and Green Communication Systems and Networks (GCSN) tracks — while ensuring high technical standards and visibility within the global communications research community.
